Baked Ravioli Gratin with Blue Cheese and Walnuts

Ingredients
  

  • 2 packs of fresh ravioli about 14 oz
  • 5 oz blue cheese Roquefort, Gorgonzola, or Blue Cheese
  • ¾ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese optional

Instructions
 

Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Peel and finely chop the garlic clove.
  • Roughly chop the walnuts and set them aside.
  • Cut the blue cheese into small pieces.

Step 2: Make the Blue Cheese Sauce

  • In a saucepan, heat the olive oil over low heat and sauté the garlic until fragrant.
  • Pour in the heavy cream and add the blue cheese pieces.
  • Stir gently until the cheese is completely melted and the sauce is smooth.
  • Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

Step 3: Assemble the Gratin

  • Lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil.
  • Layer half of the ravioli in the dish without separating them.
  • Pour some of the blue cheese sauce over the ravioli and sprinkle with some chopped walnuts.
  • Repeat with another layer of ravioli, then cover with the remaining sauce.
  • For an extra cheesy touch, sprinkle with grated Parmesan if desired.

Step 4: Bake the Gratin

  • Bake for 20 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
